Like several bazillion other users, I like using Facebook to keep tabs on what my friends are up to. What I don't like is the endless stream of "so-and-so took this quiz" and "Joe became friends with Jane" messages and "What Kind of Jedi Are You?" come-ons.

That's why I just became a fan of Facebook Purity, a browser extension / add-on that removes those annoying quiz and application notifications from your Facebook home page.

Personally, I'm loving this add-on. Anything that cuts down Facebook clutter is a winner in my book.

IMPORTANT NEWS Facebook are trying to shutdown F.B. Purity. They have banned the extension developer from Facebook!

Facebook's legal department has contacted me to tell me I am banned from Facebook, thats going to make it much harder to continue the F.B. Purity project. If you disagree with their actions and want to show support to FBP, go here and comment / like /share etc and please spread the word elsewhere too (twitter G+, blogs, news sites etc)

F.B. (Fluff Busting) Purity is an anti spam, tool for Facebook, in the form of a browser extension that alters your view of facebook to show only the most relevant information to you, by filtering out the annoying and irrelevant stories in your newsfeed, such as application spam, ads, sponsored stories etc. It also gives you the option to hide the boxes you dont want to see on the right and left hand sides of the homepage, and also lets you hide many other Facebook annoyances.
