Bad News: Facebook have made a new change, they are now shoving “Suggested posts” in the default Newsfeed page without any identifying text such as the “Join” or “Follow” links at the top of the post, that text was what FBP used to filter those posts out, so now its going to be a lot harder to filter them out. This could possibly be a Facebook bug, or it could be a Facebook test, or it could just be the way Facebook is now. I will need to investigate it further to see what I can do to get FBP to filter these posts out.<\/p>\n
In the meantime, if you wish to avoid seeing these unwanted posts in your Newsfeed, you could try switching to viewing the “Feeds” pages, which do not have these spammy posts. There are 5 Feeds pages: You can access the Feeds pages via the “Feeds” link in the left column of the Newsfeed<\/p>\n
Feeds (All) (what used to be known as the “Most Recent” page) https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/?filter=all&sk=h_chr<\/a> This page is a combination of all entities you are connected to on Facebook.<\/p>\n Friends Feed: https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/?filter=friends&sk=h_chr<\/a> Only displays posts from your Friends.<\/p>\n Favorites Feed: https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/?filter=favorites&sk=h_chr<\/a> Only displays posts from Pages \/ Friends etc that you have marked as “Favorites”.<\/p>\n Pages Feed: https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/?filter=pages&sk=h_chr<\/a> Groups Feed: https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/?filter=groups&sk=h_chr<\/a> F.B. Purity has options to change your default Newsfeed to any of the following Feeds pages, they are:<\/p>\n “News Sort: Most Recent” which keeps your Newsfeed permanently switched to the Feeds \/ All page.<\/p>\n “News Sort : Friends”, which keeps your Newsfeed permanently switched to the “Friends Feed”<\/p>\n “News Sort : Favorites” which keeps your Newsfeed permanently switched to the “Favorites Feed”<\/p>\n What do you think of Facebook’s new change?
