Thats 10 whole years!<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"3l8eq-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"3l8eq-0-0\">Since its initial release in March 2009, F.B. Purity has been battling against Facebook&#8217;s insistence on foisting tons of crap on its users that they just dont want to see. There have been many ups and downs and many clashes with Facebook where it could have spelled the end for F.B. Purity, but I have persevered and battled on, to bring FBP Users what they want, which is the abillity to control what Facebook features they see and Customize their Facebook experience to make it a more pleasant and fun experience<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"e29p3-0-0\">To coincide with the 10 year anniversary, I&#8217;ve released an update to FBP (v27.4) that fixes the recent issue with the &#8220;<strong>Hide Sponsored Box \/ Posts<\/strong>&#8221; option, which was hiding more posts than it should have due to a Facebook code change. It also fixes the &#8220;<strong>Watch Vid (No Ads)<\/strong>&#8221; link that sometimes didn&#8221;t work.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"9faph\" data-offset-key=\"3clsi-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"3clsi-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"3clsi-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"9faph\" data-offset-key=\"9n91d-0-0\">\n<h2 class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"9n91d-0-0\">Changes in F.B. Purity v27.5.1<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Fixed<\/strong> the hide &#8220;<strong>Sponsored Posts<\/strong>&#8221; bug, which was causing some &#8220;normal&#8221; posts as well as &#8220;Sponsored Posts&#8221; to be hidden. Sponsored posts are now also filtered out in languages other than English.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fixed &#8220;Watch Vid (No Ads)<\/strong>&#8221; link which wasn&#8217;t working sometimes previously<\/li>\n<li><strong>New<\/strong> functionality for Watch Video (No Ads) (rewind\/fast forward via arrow keys, pause via spacebar, up and down arrow keys increase\/decrease volume), it also now preserves the user selected video volume level, just like with other videos on Facebook.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fixed<\/strong> the <strong>Import Settings<\/strong> functionality for Google Chrome<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fixed\/Changed\u00a0<\/strong>The &#8220;<strong>Show Full Date\/Time on posts<\/strong>&#8221; option stopped working for some posts due to a code change by Facebook. I&#8217;ve not managed to fix this completely, but for some of the posts where the Full Date\/Time doesn&#8217;t show, if you hover the mouse pointer over the approximate time the post was made, the full date\/time should then replace the approximate time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Important Information for Chrome Users of F.B. Purity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Once you have installed FB Purity for Chrome, you should from then on receive automatic updates (Chrome checks for extension updates once every 5 hours). If you don&#8217;t want to wait, and know an update is available you can force an update by turning on \u201c<strong>Developer Mode<\/strong>\u201d on the Chrome extensions management page, then clicking the \u201c<strong>Update<\/strong>\u201d button at the top of the page (make sure you don\u2019t have any facebook tabs open, so Chrome can unload the existing version first).<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0To let other Google Chrome users know that FBP is safe and a great way to clean up Facebook\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/chrome.google.com\/webstore\/detail\/fbfluffbustingpurity\/nmkinhboiljjkhaknpaeaicmdjhagpep\/reviews\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Please leave a 5* review for F.B. Purity in the Google Chrome Webstore<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Important information for Firefox users of F.B. Purity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Firefox<\/strong> users who are getting the &#8220;<strong>Connection Failure<\/strong>&#8221; error when trying to install FBP, I have discovered the reason why this is happening. It is a <a href=\"https:\/\/bugzilla.mozilla.org\/show_bug.cgi?id=1308251\">known bug<\/a> in Firefox that occurs if you are using Antivirus software that monitors your web browsing. The work-around, as mentioned in the FAQ is to right click on the install button, then select save, then install the extension by dragging and dropping it on to the Firefox extension management page. This Firefox bug can also prevent Firefox from automatically updating FBP when new versions are released.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important Information for Microsft Edge users of F.B. Purity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>FB Purity<\/strong> is now available as an official Microsoft Edge extension obtainable directly from the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/store\/productid\/9MXGZZ40KDLN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Microsoft Edge store<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0 If you install the official Edge FBP extension from the Microsoft Edge store, it should auto-update when new versions are released in future. Be aware however that the Microsoft Store has a slow (manual) approval process for accepting extension updates, so the new version will not show up in the Microsoft Store for a day or two after I release an extension update.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0To let other Microsoft Edge users know that FBP is safe and a great way to clean up Facebook\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/store\/productid\/9MXGZZ40KDLN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Please leave a 5* review for F.B. Purity in the Microsoft Edge Store<br \/>\n<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Important Information for Opera users of F.B. Purity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The FB Purity extension for Opera needs to be installed via the official Opera Add-ons site, which is where the green Install F.B. Purity button will take you to. Once it has been installed from there, whenever updates to the FBP extension are uploaded and approved on the Opera extensions site (this process can take a few days after I upload an update), the version of FBP in your browser should auto-update at some point. It can sometimes be triggered by closing the browser, waiting a bit and re-opening it, there is also an &#8220;<strong>Update Extensions Now<\/strong>&#8221; button on the Opera extensions management page, which if clicked will update all your Opera extensions to the latest versions. In order for the extension to update you may need to first close any open Facebook tabs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important Information for users of the Brave Browser<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>FB Purity<\/strong> can now be easily installed in the latest release of\u00a0 the\u00a0<strong>Brave <\/strong>browser by going to the <a href=\"https:\/\/is.gd\/fbpchrome\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FB Purity Chrome Webstore page<\/a> and clicking the &#8220;<strong>Add to Chrome<\/strong>&#8221; button.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All other \u00a0FBP users<\/strong> can update to the latest version of FB Purity by clicking the green \u201c<strong>Install F.B.
