How do I opt-out of Facebook’s new Create chat rooms?

When I try to install FB purity on my Samsung tablet, a box pops up that says it won’t work with Android. My husband installed it on his Chrome android tablet without any problem.
    Please advise

FB Purity is designed to work on the desktop version of Facebook. It wont work on the mobile version of the site. However if you can set your mobile/tablet browser to always ask for the desktop version of the Facebook site, and have a web browser that allows adding extensions (such as Firefox or Kiwi) then, you should be able to install either the Firefox extension version of FBP on Firefox, or the Chrome extension version of FBP on Kiwi. I cannot guarantee the user experience on a mobile/tablet or that FBP will work on these decices, but just suggesting a possibility for trying to get it to work.

FB Purity v29.4.6 does not work with Safari and the new layout on Facebook.

FB Purity does not work with any browser on the new Facebook layout. To get FB Purity working again, you need to switch to the old (“Classic”) Facebook layout. You can do that by clicking the triangle menu at the top right of the page, then select the “Switch to Classic layout” option. If that option is not there you need to install a User Agent switcher extension, then use it to switch your “User Agent” (aka browser identification code) to one of the following:

      Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_9_3) AppleWebKit/537.75.14 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/7.0.3 Safari/7046A194A

      or

      Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:30.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/30.0

Does that mean that FB Purity will not work with the new layout on FB even in the future?

Or are You guys working on it?

I can’t get Purity to SHOW rooms on my Chromebook. Doesn’t matter whether I leave the box unchecked or check ‘hide’ (I know that shouldn’t work); they won’t show up on my page when the app is working. It’s one of the only features of new FB I liked–the ability to see who’s online now in the ‘create rooms’ thing.

    Any ideas?

are you using any other browser add-ons that may have hidden it? or put any Custom CSS code in FBP’s CSS box to hide it? if none of those things solve your issue, i would suggest following all the steps in the Troubleshooting Guide on the FAQ page, as it may help isolate what is causing your issue. btw make sure you click hte “save and close” button after you make any changes on the FBP options screen.
