FB Purity is a safe, free and top rated web browser extension for Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera and Maxthon. It lets you hide all Facebook ads, hide the junk and interface elements that you dont want to see, filter out posts in the newsfeed you are not interested in, and Customise Facebook’s style to make it look how you want it to look. It lets you change the fonts, change the background image, make the newsfeed transparent, alert you if your friends un-friend you and many more cool features.
I have no news feed and 18 people unfriended me all in one day? What the heck? Some of those people went off my friends list ages ago, and what did you do to my newsfeed?
It sounds like you have ticked the “hide newsfeed” option. FB Purity just reports on changes in your friends list, the alerts that pop up explain the possible reasons why those names appear in the list. If you have over 500 friends, its statistically quite likely you will get regular alerts as some people like to de-activate their account every now and then.
